We pulled an 18.6 lb and another local guide has pulled another couple big fish with one over 20. Come to Ucluelet for a fishing charter and get some food while you can. Good numbers of Chinook. Sizes vary widely with an average 8-10 lb and hitting 16 lb on the larger side. Halibut is open and size limit increased this year to 112 cm giving opportunity to catch a hog again! Last few years we have seen an early spawn out of Salmon and Mussel beach. First I heard on Feb 18, I launched my tinny and rushed to the Spilling Islets where I scored my bucket of herring with a cast net.
